First Things First

Hi everyone!  Since this is my first blog post, I figured I should take a second to introduce myself.

My name is Ashley.  Now I'm struggling with what to put next...like whatever I type next is the next most important thing about me.  Can we say over-analyzer?  I was going to put my job, but I didn't want people to thing my job is what I think is the most important thing about me.  Then, I was faced with deciding between talking about my husband or daughter first.   Let's just start with how my little journey began.  Chronological for the win!

I graduated with my Bachelors in Elementary Education from Missouri Southern State University in 2006.  I got my first job teaching in my old elementary school.  I even found some of my old textbooks.  (Remember when it was a big deal to write your name on the inside cover?)  I taught 4th grade for six years.  During that time, I was working on my Masters in Instructional Media Technology, which is a fancy way of saying Library Media.  I graduated in 2012 from Pittsburg State University.  Now, I am the Library Media Specialist at the same school I originally taught at, plus one more school in our district.  Both schools house 3rd and 4th graders and I love it!

I met my husband on the Fourth of July in 2008 at a party.  He was home for the holiday, but lived 8 hours away.  We had our first date when he was in town again in September.  Needless to say, we spent a lot of time on the phone getting to know each other.  He managed to transfer to a town 4 hours away, then finally, after a year or so of long distance, he moved back to his and mine's hometown.  We got married on July 10th, 2010.

On June 29th, 2013, we welcomed our first daughter, Blair, to the world.  She's amazing and we love every little thing about her.  I'm learning as I go and doing my best to work it!

I hope you come back to visit and hear my day to day life stories.  I hope to dive into a little bit of everything and make some great friends along the way!
